I didn't even think Bancroft had 99 houses to begin with. :cya:

Seems like glfox was exploring Ghost Towns out west about year or so ago when somebody suggested he could have been exploring them right around here.............

or something like that

This has been coming for quite some time. I just can't believe our "fearless leaders" are so blind. They just keep spending like the taxes are unlimited.

Amen to that! I'm amazed at how out-of-touch with reality the elected can be. :(

Exactly--these are numbers from the entire Bancroft mailing address area, not just downtown Bancroft. But still--that's a lot of houses for any of our small towns, Owosso included.

The sky is falling and nobody is noticing.

Yes I was, however those ghost towns didn't have a person living in them.

Owosso 583

That is a lot, even in the big city of Owosso.

5 or 6 years ago (maybe a bit longer) our neighbor went into real estate sales. At that time there was not one house for sale in the city of Corunna, very few in Owosso. She had buyers and could not find houses for them.

The list of foreclosures published in the Independent is a mile long and has been for at least 4 or 5 years. Well, the last year it has gotten to be more like 2 miles long.

That's not within the city limits. That number also includes all the homes with Owosso mailing addresses.

Right............we know that. We's not all idiots ya know.

I'm not sure if that number could be split out as to how many in the city and how many out.......but I very much suspect the lion's share is inside the city limits. If for no other reason than just the density of the houses.

Same goes for all the other cities listed.

The more things change...

per realtor.com, available homes as of 3/25/08, this does not include homes that are in foreclosure and not yet listed...

Bancroft 50
Corunna 72
Durand 224
Lennon 30
Morrice 65
Owosso 533
Perry 152
Vernon 22

Makes one wonder how many of those homes from 1/07 are sitting empty and not listed anymore...

Makes me feel sad for all those empty houses, just sitting there, untended, when once they were homes filled with laughter, memory making, life.

Makes me wonder how many relationships, marriages broke up over the financial stress.

:love3: :violent1: :boxing: :banghead: :dontknow:
