We can't get local politicians to listen what makes you think any little group you come up with would get national politicians to listen?

Harmonic is correct in wanting to penalize those who don't clean up after their dogs. That is uncalled for. So are all the cigarettes butts littering everywhere, the fast food wrappers, plastic drink bottles, etc. Unless we can penalize people for being inconsiderate SLOBS who litter the problem will continue. Whenever I see somebody throw a cigarette butt down on the ground I can't help but wonder what their own yard/house must look like--hundreds of butts littering their lawn, driveway, carpeting inside right? Ditto for the fast food papers and drink bottles.

I saw somebody walking their dog on Corunna Ave this morning.
Just west of Gould St.

But I don't think 'we' need to spend tax dollars policing dog poop and litter right now. People need to 'police' each other.
